I began my career as a Diesel Fitter—on the tools, working on heavy mobile equipment. Then one day, a routine job went very wrong. A series of decisions—by myself and others—led to a serious incident and my leg was amputated.
But I didn’t just lose a limb. Everything changed in that moment - not just the physical injury, but the impact on my family, my identity, and my way of life.

Even with all the systems and procedures we have, I’ve seen good people—experienced people—make decisions they wish they could take back. That’s what led me to dig deeper and draw my own experience in mobile equipment and safety incidents. To understand why we make these decisions.
